When Italians get a Corvette chassis to put their own bodywork on the results are marvelous.

Love these!

I've never figured out if Iso is pronounced "Isoh" or if you say I-S-O like BMW.

The only thing that came from a Corvette in the Grifo was the engine? The chassis was a design from Giotto Bizzarrini. The body was a design by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone.

I'm not one hundred percent sure on it but you sound certain. Except for the last year they all had SBC engines (also some rare BBC powered versions) mated to the Muncie manual.

Oh yeah, Iso used all kinds of hardware. Transmissions from Borg-Warner to ZF, engines from both Ford and Chevrolet. They were completely blueprinted prior to install though. Chassis however was a Bizzarrini creation.
